ROBOSAN is transforming laboratory medicine by automating and digitizing pre-analytical phases. Combining automation and AI, the project ensures safe samples, complete traceability, and maximum efficiency for healthcare facilities, starting with the collection stage.
Projects & Objectives
The project, implemented by ROBOSAN, an academic spin-off of the University of Naples Federico II, aims to bridge the market gap for proprietary and patented technologies that combine robotics and artificial intelligence for the automation of pre-analytical laboratory processes.
Building on validation results and field-tested prototypes (TRL 7), the plan supported by the grant aims for TRL 9, completing the transition from research to scaled industrialization and go-to-market.
Main objectives:
• Transitioning validated systems (ROBOSCAN and RPS-1) into scalable, industrial production lines compliant with high operational volumes.
• Finalizing a robust, cloud-based software suite ensuring seamless LIS/HIS interoperability and enterprise-level remote monitoring.
• Conversion of active pilot tests into stable commercial agreements and structuring of the sales network.

At ROBOSAN we provide a robotic platform for hospitals and healthcare facilities to simplify and automate the preparation processes of biological samples directly at Points of Care (sampling points), with the aim of reducing costs related to preparation errors and processing times.
