What is ROBOSAN?
On a global scale, approximately 2% of routine blood tests are affected by errors, which can lead to incorrect diagnoses if not detected in time. ROBOSAN has invented and designed a robotic platform that reduces errors and preparation times for biological samples, bringing benefits to both healthcare and cost-efficiency in medical facilities. The system sanitizes, classifies, and packs samples, optimizing the HUB-SPOKE workflow : samples are collected at the SPOKE and analyzed at the HUB.

ROBOSAN is a robotic platform designed to improve the handling of biological samples by automating their classification, sanitization, tracking, and packaging. It optimizes the HUB-SPOKE workflow in laboratory medicine, reducing error rates up to 62% and process times up to 80%. The system has won awards and is undergoing further development, with plans for regional validation through real-world deployment of the devices.
The initiative highlights the potential of ICT and robotics to drive economic growth, particularly in the E-health sector, which plays a strategic role in regional development. The COVID-19 pandemic emphasized the importance of such technologies, and ROBOSAN exemplifies their application in improving efficiency, safety, and innovation in healthcare processes.
